I found this beautiful Desert Firetail Damselfly on a hike around Lake Havasu, AZ. The short wings and red body make him easy to identify. He was enjoying some yellowbell flowers and I loved the red of the Firetail against the bright yellow. The male has the bright red thorax with dark stripes. The Desert Firetail Damselflies are found in North America, Central America, and South America.
