Description
While down by the Lake in Lake Havasu, AZ, I heard some peeping which sounded like a baby duck. It seemed a little late in the Summer for duck babies so I kept looking until I found an American Coot with about five Cootling teenagers. Since these have outgrown the orange head when they are very young, it was hard to tell the age of the teenagers.
This poor little Cootling seemed lost even though it was only a few yards away from it's mother. Once the mother gave it a little tender kiss, all was well.

What a sweet photo. I didn't know the babies have a colored beak cool
Adrienne Wilson replied:
Angie...I know what you mean. The babies have so much color compared to the parents. I never knew. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much Steve. I had never been lucky enough to see a baby...this was a first.
